Swimming Pool Manager: City of East Moline, IL

Swimming Pool Manager

The East Moline Municipal Swimming Pool Manager must have the ability to promote the facility and develop fund raising activities; required to hire and manage pool personnel, schedule effectively and conduct specialized staff training. Manager will develop and implement instructional swim programs; plan and conduct special aquatic events; administer and teach swimming classes and perform head coaching duties for the USS Team of the East Moline Club.

Must have experience in preparing and implementing annual budgets; maintaining records, writing reports, performing payroll and purchasing supplies. Must have ability to inform the public about pool and facility regulations, policies and procedures and comply with State of Illinois Department of Public Health rules and regulations. Will possess the skills to schedule and coordinate activities with United Township High School and coaching personnel. Coordinate maintenance and custodial duties with United Township High School personnel. Flexible schedule required to coordinate and manage swim meets and perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree required with emphasis on parks and recreation or related area with an aquatic background.

Certifications required in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, Certifications required or have the ability to gain within one year including American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, and National Swimming Pool Foundation pool/spa operator.

Salary Range: $40,000 – $50,000 depending on qualifications.

Ability to perform Swimming Pool Manager/Head Coaching duties for United Township High School Boys/Girls Swimming and Diving Teams, and Glenview Middle School Swim Team; additional coaching stipend

This position reports to the East Moline Municipal Swimming Pool Board.

Law requires all persons hired in these positions to obtain certificates in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard Training and re-qualify as required to retain employment.
